  i read many comments on this board about the similarities the wt has with the catholic church.

  how come the catholic church and not other?.

  would satan mimic a church which wouldn't be the one christ found and die for?.

  LOL. We are so busy...

  Your aunt was right... but, now days Catholics are getting more instruction by joining many bible groups; the Charistmatic Movement has a deep Bible reading between them. Never the less, in their beginnig, many jumped from there to other Christian denominations... But lately it has been centered by many priest accepting their pentecostalism side, so they guide them to still keep devotions alive and give they give room for that as well. The Vatican has come up with a guidance in devotions... It is very educative, as many groups were dumping them. I, like you, have a very deeply religiuos husband: he goes to Mass every morning, he prays hours during the day and at night... (I get into the forum while he prays) :-) Like you, I'm kind of jealuos for his piety. God bless his heart... he saids he has many people to pray for... THE WHOLE WORLD. Many times I remind him: "do not forget to pray for every body on the forum, especially Simon, Angharad for their load could be heavy at times, or most of the times..." for a time, he was concerned about my time on this forum; not any more... he has learned to love my people here.   Bill Bowen's Use of "Fake Precision"

  the fake precision fallacy involves making a claim with a mathematical precision that is impossible to obtain.. he does this on his site where he starts with an alleged and unsupported figure that the watchtower has a file of some 23,000 child molesters and runs that figure up to the point where it becomes absolutely absurd.

  his purpose is to persuade readers that jehovah's witnesses are a hot bed of child molestation.

  the problem is that he starts with at best very dubious sources and then he takes this data and treats it as if it is precise and factual.. it is not unusual for many of us to use a frivolous "false precision" in making statements.

  I haven't finish reading the posts; I only read the first page, so I may be sticking my foot on my mouth by what I'm going to say:

  I still have doubts about jerome's style... he seems to follow the same pattern on this board with some posters: kind of sticking up for the free world the exJW experiences and on the other hand, he sticks out for the ones who defends the WT. Also, he seems to enjoy when one posts this kind of threads (like Hilda's on other threads)and he likes to feed them big time giving all kinds of suggestions, but never definnig what his real intentions are. It is kind of weird and I don't think I can explain myself about this. Sorry and if someone here feels the same way and can explain it better, please do so, if you wish... I'm kind of timid here... but I couldn't stay quiet...

  i sent it to kent.

  the only thing that kept me going was the thought of what my suicide would do to my children for the rest of their lives.

  i finally got the courage to seek help for that depression, and im fine now.. alanf and gedanken (two of my good friends) helped me out, and i am most grateful for that.

  Oh, well, I guess I missed it all at H2O, but I'm here learning so much... mostly, like you said, finding true friends on this board.   as ive made it known on this board, my current status with the watchtower bible and tract society is that of inactive.

  this is a loophole i have utilized, to keep an open channel of communication with family members in the organization.. i want to clarify with everyone: i do not hold any doctrinal ideas, theology, ideology, opinions expressed in any form by the wtbts.

  therefore, to simply put, i do not believe in the wtbts in any way, shape, or form.

  well we got the phone call from the elder to let us know of the decision to disfellowship us.

  the one elder called while the other sat on the phone as a "witness".

  the second elder was once a close friend.

  Your relationship with your mother sounds profund. I mean, years of desagreement.

  I'm surprissed of her inablility to communicate with you: she does not get it, eh? Should I imagine she is not a true JW? I mean, like the ones that naively believed everything told? I have an aunt who is a JW and acts like her. I feel for you and I'm truly sorry for the lack of understanding between the two of you. Love,
